January 2, 2011 Woodbridge, Suffolk, England - Around 3 AM on December 26, 1980, USAF Airman 1st Class John Burroughs and Staff Sergeant James Penniston, that night assigned as RAF Woodbridge Security Supervisor, were on foot running through the eastern end of Rendlesham Forest that bordered the Capel Green and larger farm fields. Time was distorted for both of them as John and Jim felt like they were moving in slow motion. Each man says their skin tingled and hair on their heads and necks rose as if in a strong electrostatic field, similar to the atmosphere before a big thunderstorm. But it was a cold, clear winter night.
At some point in that run through the eastern end of that thick, tall Rendlesham Forest, Sgt. Penniston "lost John." For at least forty-five minutes, Jim Penniston was stunned and mesmerized by a black, triangular, glassy-surfaced craft of unknown origin resting on the forest floor not far from the open farm field at Capel Green.

Former USAF Staff Sgt. James W. Penniston: "It was a triangular craft. The fabric of the craft was black like glass. And then throughout the fabric of the craft, there was some coloring varying from saucer-shaped to pie-shaped circles that moved around the craft. Some were red and blue, some yellow - or orange - I guess more orange.
... there were markings on the craft, which were very unusual.
Probably 2.5 to 3 feet wide. If you had a sheet of smooth glass and you took a piece of sandpaper and you laid it on that glass, running from the glass to the sandpaper - that's how it felt.
Here's something that is odd. I lost track of John for like 45 minutes or so. I don't know where he was. There was like a 45-minute gap of time there, which seemed like - I don't know - a couple of minutes. I don't know what caused the distortion."

after Earthfiles discussed his August 26, 1994, hypnosis transcript (below) with Jim.
He said the symbols were raised like Braille on the surface of the black, glassy, triangular
craft and each symbol had the texture of sandpaper. The symbols covered about 3 feet
of the craft's surface, each symbol averaging about 3 inches high.
WHEN IS YOUR VERY NEXT MEMORY OF JOHN BURROUGHS?
When the light on the craft started to generate to a more white, brilliant light is when I backed away from the craft. John (then) was maybe 15 feet away, 20 feet away, standing there.
BECAUSE YOU WERE AFRAID OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING WITH THE INCREASING LIGHT?
I was not sure what it was going to do. I don't know - explode? Or? The craft lifted off the forest floor, went to treetop level, and took off at an extreme rate of speed and John and I stood up. Nothing that I know of could be gone in a blink of an eye.
I had this feeling and the feeling was that there would be a return sometime of that craft. I don't know. It was just a very odd thought."
Like John Burroughs, Jim Penniston has been frustrated by memory blocks about what happened on December 26th in Rendlesham Forest - and what happened to him a few days later when Sgt. Penniston was ordered to report to the Bentwaters Air Force Office of Special Investigations - also known as AFOSI. There Jim was further ordered to undergo hypnosis with sodium pentothal. After that, Sgt. Penniston wondered what the U. K. and American intelligence people did during the several hours that Sgt. Penniston was hypnotized? What did they learn from his mind about his and John's encounter on December 26, 1980, with the lights and craft that he could not remember clearly himself?
So, fourteen years later, on August 26, 1994, Jim underwent his own hypnosis with a hypnotherapist to see if he could find out more. Here is a brief excerpt from the first of two hypnosis sessions in which Jim moves his hands and fingers in the air over the raised symbols that remind him of Braille.

Yes. I'm just touching it lightly.
IS IT WARM? COLD?
I can't tell with my fingers.
WHAT DO THE SYMBOLS LOOK LIKE?
I know some. The first one's a triangle. The second one looks like a musical note. The third one like a triangle with a flag on it, a flag pole on it.
The other one looks like a heart we shoot at with a head.
WITH A HEAD?
Yeah. That's strange. Top is a large triangle with a - it's not a circle because it's not completely round. Now it's warm.
DOES IT FEEL LIKE METAL OR PLASTIC?
No, it's smooth. Very smooth. I hear noise.
WHAT KIND OF NOISE DO YOU HEAR?
The background. Branches. John's here!
JOHN'S WITH YOU?
Yeah, I don't understand.
HOW LONG HAS JOHN BEEN THERE?
I don't know. He just... he's there. And I'm not by the craft anymore.
WHERE ARE YOU?
Thirty feet away.
DO YOU REMEMBER GOING THIRTY FEET AWAY?
No.
LET'S GO BACKWARDS A LITTLE BIT. LET'S GO BACK TO THE CRAFT AND YOU'RE FEELING THE SYMBOLS. WHAT HAPPENS THEN?
It's a bright light.
WHERE'S THE BRIGHT LIGHT?
The ship... the black is white, it's bright!
GLOWING BRIGHT?
Yeah. Gotta squint. It's that light! Everywhere I look, that's all I see. Jeez! How can it be that bright?

Hypnosis Session, September 10, 1994
In his second hypnosis session on September 10, 1994, Jim Penniston breaks through an apparent post-hypnotic suggestion by the AFOSI hypnotizers to keep him from talking. The following are excerpts from that second session in which the American and British intelligence people seem to have anticipated before their sodium pentothal hypnosis that Jim Penniston received a telepathic download of binary numbers - as if the intelligence operatives have had experience with this kind of encounter and telepathic download of numbers before.

for an Ancient Aliens production first broadcast on
December 30, 2010, The History Channel.
Then on October 2, 2010, during interview production for the History Channel's Ancient Aliens series, Jim Penniston had his notebook from December 1980, in which he had sketched the triangular craft and announced to John, me and the TV crew that he had also written in his notebook a series of zeroes and ones that he said came into his mind when he touched the craft symbols. For thirty years, according to Jim, he had not shown or discussed the binary code with anyone. John Burroughs told me he was very surprised to learn for the first time that Jim had binary code in the notebook.
Jim said he thought it was the morning of December 27, 1980, when he was off duty after the Rendlesham Forest and farm field encounters the night before that he kept seeing the same series of zeros and ones in his mind. He sat down and wrote the numbers in his notebook.
Recently he shared five of some dozen pages of zeros and ones with me and the TV production company to have analyzed to see if there is any meaning. I sent the scanned pages to the Australian scientist and retired astronomer who have helped me with geometries and an implied mathematical language embedded in some of the worldwide crop formations. The Australian scientist describes himself this way:
"Dr. Horace R. Drew, Caltech Ph.D. 1981, well known for producing the first high-resolution x-ray structure of DNA, for discovering certain aspects of the genetic code used to curve DNA in chromosomes, and for serious crop circle studies under the name 'Red Collie.'"
The American retired astronomer is Michael A. Reed, Harvard Ph.D., and former astrophysicist, University of Arizona, now retired in Timberlake, North Carolina. Dr. Reed discovered that the June 1, 2008, Barbury Castle barley formation had a ratcheted spiral pattern he calculated to be a surprising and new way to show the number Pi encoded to ten decimal places: 3.14159265358. [ Editor's Note: Wikipedia - Pi (Greek word for perimeter) is a mathematical constant, which represents the ratio of any circle's circumference to its diameter in Euclidian geometry, which is the same as the ratio of a circle's area to the square of its radius. It is approximately equal to 3.14159, but Pi is an "irrational number" in which the decimal expansion never ends and does not repeat. ]
We kept Dr. Drew's and Dr. Reed's analysis confidential until the December 30, 2010, Ancient Aliens broadcast on the History Channel.

Latitude and Longitude Location in Binary Code
Dr. Drew and Dr. Reed, who analyzed the binary code for m,e provided the image below that shows the latitude and longitude they derived from Jim Penniston's binary code at the Woodbridge town center. Jim Penniston also told the Woodbridge Community Hall audience on December 28, 2010, that he still has several more pages of binary code in his notebook that he has not yet released for public consideration.
The yellow highlighted latitude and longitude converges at the town center of Woodbridge, Suffolk County, England. The Ancient Alien latitude and longitude was further west off the coast of
Ireland in the ocean. That difference appears related to the fact that some of Jim Penniston's
