The Travis Walton Abduction

The Travis Walton Abduction
Travis Walton was an American lumberjack who lived in a small town called snowflake in Arizona, he worked for a logging firm run by a man named Mike Rogers. In November 1975 Travis was 22 years old and was working for Rogers cutting down undergrowth near the Town of Turkey Springs in Arizona. There must be so many towns in America they are running out of names and just calling them things like snowflake and Turkey Springs. The contract was the biggest the company had ever secured and all the loggers were working all the hours going to get the contract finished on time. On the fifth of November while the crew were finishing up for the day something was going to happen to Travis and his crew that would change their lives forever. Travis along with Steve Pierce, Dwayne Smith, Ken Peterson, John Goulette, Allen Dallis and Mike Rogers were in Mike's truck driving back to snowflake when they saw an unusual light glowing behind a nearby hill. On rounding the hill they witnessed a large Disc about twenty feet in diameter hovering about fifteen foot off the ground. Travis Walton got out of the truck and despite pleas from the rest of the crew not to approach it he walked towards the object mesmerised and stood nearby looking up at it. The crew then reported that the Disc started to wobble and make a loud whirring noise and Travis turned and ran for the truck. The UFO fired what looked like a beam of light at Travis knocking him ten feet through the air and leaving him lifeless on the ground. The rest of the crew immediately panicked, turned the truck around and drove off at speed leaving Travis Walton laying where he fell.

On their return to snowflake the crew went straight to the sheriffs office and reported what had happened. Despite not being believed Sheriff Chuck Ellison later commented that the logging crew who were renowned for being tough hardworking mountain men were all distraught, they were clearly shook up by something and in floods of tears. When questioned separately they all came up with the exact same account for what had happened prompting an immediate search of the area by the sheriffs office. Mike Rogers insisted on returning with the sheriffs to help in the search and also requested they take sniffer dogs with them hoping to find Travis quickly. Travis and Mike Rogers were quite close at the time and Travis was even engaged to Mike Roger's sister. Rogers returned with several police officers but the rest of the crew were too shaken up and upset to go back and returned to notify Travis Waltons relatives instead. A large area was searched around the point Travis was last seen and there was absolutely no sign of Travis and no sign of any unusual activity whatsoever. The sniffer dogs couldn't pick up any scent trail of Travis from the point he was last seen and the police were concerned about him as he was last seen wearing only jeans, a shirt and a denim jacket.

The police officers initially feared he might be lost and suffering from hyperthermia but when they couldn't find any trace of him they got suspicious about the whole story the loggers had told them. They called off the search before considering investigating the incident as a possible murder inquiry. On finding out the police had called off the search Mike Rogers and Duane Walton who was the brother of Travis Walton became angry at the sheriffs and demanded they continue until they found him. It's documented that Mike Rogers became "explosively angry" that the search was called off and refused to leave the sheriffs office until they agreed to continue looking. Not really the actions ofsomebody who had just murdered someone and hid the body is it.

The police then brought in extra resources and continued the search later that day using dogs, helicopters, officers on horses and various types of off road vehicles. The massive police search of the entire area turned up nothing and suspicions grew regarding the story told by the rest of the crew about what had happened that day. Travis's friends and family were repeatedly questioned by police over the following days after Travis had disappeared, the crew were also subjected to lie detector tests by the sheriffs office. They were each asked in turn if they knew the whereabouts of Travis Walton, they were asked in turn if they had murdered or injured Travis Walton in any way and they were then asked in turn if they had witnessed what they believe to be a flying saucer on the afternoon of his disappearance. The test results on all five men came back that each one of them was definitely telling the truth about what they had reported to the police. According to the professional Polygraph examiner who carried out the test the chances of all five men tricking the lie detector into thinking they were telling the truth was less than one tenth of a percent and in his professional opinion hebelieved they had definitely seen something. The sheriffs office had no choice but to then believe the story regarding the UFO striking Travis Walton and leaving him for dead.

Shortly before midnight on the tenth of November, five days after his initial disappearance Travis Walton woke up miles away from the point he originally disappeared laying on the road outside a petrol station in the town of Hebert in Arizona. He was confused and disorientated on waking, it was dark and pouring with rain and he stated that a UFO around 40ft in diameter was silently hovering above him before flying off at speed. Travis immediately phoned his brother in law to come to pick him up and was amazed to find out he had been gone for five days after thinking he had only been missing a few hours. On his return to snowflake events of the missing five days started to return to him. He gave a long and detailed account of what he remembered about the missing five days. Travis went on to say how he had woken up on what he believed was a hospital bed. He became increasingly agitated as he came around because he felt something pressing down on his chest and the air felt very damp and smelt musty. He stated he was in agonising pain when he woke up like he had been burnt all over and at one point almost passed out again. His eyes were extremely blurry at first but when he started to focus he could first of all see a strange metal object laying on his chest and then the outlines of three people standing near the bed. Believing them to be doctors he tried talking to them but then realised they were definitely not doctors and went on to describe the typical alien type that everyone involved in alien crash sites or abductions claims to see.

He described the beings as being under five feet tall and having a chalky white appearance, disproportionately large heads with a small jaw and big round eyes. He stated their fingers were long and thin and they had no hair on their body at all. Travis lashed out hitting one of the Aliens back against the other one before he jumped off the bed in a state of panic. The metal object that had been sitting on his chest crashed to the floor and gave off a strange light. Travis was barely able to stand in his weakened state but managed to grab some sort of glass object from the side of the oddly shaped room and lunged at the strange beings. He screamed and shouted at them in fear and anger and they backed off and left. Travis ran out of the room and down a corridor into a bigger rounder room, the room had a chair in the centre with some sort of control stick attached to it, as he approached the chair the room became dark and transparent and all the stars in the sky became visible through the walls and ceiling. There was a panel of coloured buttons and a rectangular screen with strange lines sat above it. A large man with a strange helmet on and a tight blue suit entered the room and when travis approached him believing him to be a fellow human being the man grabbed him by the arm and led him down the corridor and out of the ship into a large hangar type building.

Travis stated the hangar was full of UFO's of all different shapes and sizes and the man didn't speak but led him through the hangar and down another corridor into a room with a table and chair and three other people stood in there. He stated there was a woman and two men stood there and none of them had helmets on, he noticed the perfect complexion of their skin and how strikingly good looking they all were. This is exactly how people described the so called Venusians such as the stranger at the pentagon and his fellow crew. It's amazing when you read these stories how so many different people from all over the world give similar accounts of how Extra Terrestrials look. When Travis began asking them questions two of the men gently took him by the arms and led him to the table, they then lifted him onto the table and held him down while the woman approached with some sort of mask in her hand. The mask wasn't attached to any sort of tubes but had a black golf ball sized object attached to the back of it. Travis stated he then started to struggle but the large built men were unusually strong and held him down fast, the woman placed the mask on his face and pressed down and within seconds he lost consciousness before waking up on the road outside the petrol station.

Several months after the apparent abduction Travis agreed to take two lie detector tests carried out by two individual experts and he passed both tests. He also agreed to be interviewed under hypnotic regression and the expert carrying out the interview stated he categorically believed Travis was telling the truth about his alien abduction. The only issue was the fact Travis could only account for around two hours of his five day ordeal and when the interviewer tried to delve deeper Travis became so distressed they had to stop questioning him and wake him up. Travis was checked over by a doctor in the days after waking up in the road, they concluded that Travis had clearly lost weight and his body showed physical signs that he hadn't eaten for days on end but his blood results curiously didn't reflect that and the only injury they could find was a strange hypodermic needle mark on the crook of his arm. After his experiences that week Travis eventually settled down in snowflake, he married Mike Rogers sister and they went on to start a family together. Travis has written a book about his experiences titled Fire in the sky and has gone into great detail about his time on the UFO from what his hypnotic regression brought back to him. There's also a documentary with first hand accounts from all those involved and it's amazing to see even after all these years how emotionally traumatised the six witnesses are.

Not once has any of them ever changed a single detail about what happened and they actually break down in tears on the documentary when recounting the events of that day. Travis attends UFO conventions all over the world, one can be seen here and the story of his abduction is still talked about by world renowned experts to this day. The one thing you can't argue with is the fact that seven separate witnesses saw it, five of them passed lie detector tests at the time and one passed it years later as he was too traumatised at the time to take it and the seventh person was obviously Travis Walton who went on to pass two. Four separate experts carried out the polygraph tests and they all believe the witnesses accounts of that day. Not one of the lumberjacks had any reason whatsoever to lie about what they saw and have never changed their story or gained financially from it. Travis not only passed two separate lie detector tests months later but a session of hypnotic regression and has recalled his story countless times in interviews and conventions over the years. Travis is able to go into so much detail about his abduction and never changed a single detail about it. You really can't argue with those stats.
