Another strange belief of the Serious Ufologist is that while individual UFO reports might not be convincing, the sheer number of them means that you have to take them seriously enough to believe that some of them must be the real thing. They seem not to understand the simple logic that if you add garbage to garbage you just get more garbage.

In the good old days of the old-fashioned UFO UpDates mailing list there used to be many fascinating, lengthy and detailed arguments between believers and sceptics, as well as the drivel contributed by the inevitable head bangers, which provided some light relief from the often bewildering technicalities described by some of the more erudite list members. (Anyone who read these carefully and critically could see that some of these technical arguments were quite bogus, but that only added to the fun.)

Being Serious Ufologists, they were also delighted to note that there were no stories about little grey aliens gliding through bedroom walls to abduct people. A number of sceptics ("skeptibunkers" in the believers' jargon) read the book rather more carefully and pointed out that Kean had published contributions by UFO believers without any critical comment. She just accepted their stories without asking any awkward questions. The sceptics gleefully noted that many of the allegedly amazing stories had long since been thoroughly investigated and explained, as hoaxes or misinterpretations or combinations of both. The sceptics were given even more cause to gloat when it was revealed that the photographer of the amazing triangular UFO over Belgium in 1990 admitted that he had faked it. In Kean's book a learned professor explains why it must be genuine.

A critical look at the reports described in this book would not only have to mention the findings of serious (i.e. honest and objective) investigators but would also have to attempt to refute them. Kean deals with this problem by simply ignoring them. It thus slowly began to dawn on some of the Serious Ufologists that the book was having the opposite effect, on people whose opinions matter, than that which was presumably intended. The suspicion that Kean was more interested in cheap sensationalism than plain truth was confirmed when she recently got involved in publicity over videos of alleged UFOs over an airfield in Chile. When it was established that these were nearby insects rather than distant saucers, she refused to accept this and even the more credulous Serious Ufologists found it difficult to continue taking her seriously.

The decline in the activities of UFO believers is thus caused, in The Pelican's expert opinion, by the mental conflict between the desire to believe in interstellar spacecraft and the growing realisation that most of the evidence is faked or misinterpretations of ordinary events. But then, ALL THOSE who want total control don't want folks to have dogs who will protect them, who will warn them of intruders. THEY don't want self sufficiency where dogs assist their humans in herding goats, or sheep, or cattle. THEY don't want any of us to be able to hunt so we can feed our families, and our dogs.

Did you know there is a huge problem with hordes of unusually aggressive wolves in some of the outlying areas of Iran? The people are not allowed to have guns, and they rely on their dogs to protect their herd animals from certain slaughter. How would you like to be out in that circumstance with no dogs?

If there was a scintilla of doubt as to whether Americans are living in a predatory police state, then this story completely eviscerates it. Michigan state police have been using a handheld mobile forensics device to steal information from cell phones belonging to motorists stopped for minor traffic violations.

The high-tech device works with 3000 different phone models and can bypass passwords to process "Complete extraction of existing, hidden, and deleted phone data, including call history, text messages, contacts, images, and geotags," according to CelleBrite, the company behind the device. "The Physical Analyzer allows visualization of both existing and deleted locations on Google Earth. In addition, location information from GPS devices and image geotags can be mapped on Google Maps."

"A US Department of Justice test of the CelleBrite UFED used by Michigan police found the device could grab all of the photos and video off of an iPhone within one-and-a-half minutes," reports TheNewspaper.com.

Michigan state police have been using the device to conduct 4th amendment-violating searches of motorists' phones who have not even been suspected of any crime.

To add insult to injury, when the ACLU attempted to file a freedom of information act request to discover how police were using the devices, they were slapped with a demand for 544,680 from the Michigan state police.

The fact that Americans are now considered guilty until proven innocent and treated like terrorists by cops who have been trained that their role is no longer to "serve and protect" but to harass and abuse is fast becoming a glib concept.

The question really boils down to whether anyone actually cares. Most Americans couldn't live without their smart phone and now give it more attention than their own children. We are being enslaved through our own overdependence on gadgets and technology.

As the ACLU points out, use of the devices is completely illegal as it clearly violates the 4th amendment.

"With certain exceptions that do not apply here, a search cannot occur without a warrant in which a judicial officer determines that there is probable cause to believe that the search will yield evidence of criminal activity," ACLU staff attorney Mark P. Fancher wrote. "A device that allows immediate, surreptitious intrusion into private data creates enormous risks that troopers will ignore these requirements to the detriment of the constitutional rights of persons whose cell phones are searched."

With the ACLU currently embroiled in a lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to stop its warrantless searches of laptops belonging to anyone who enters the United States, another legal fight in the case of the mobile cellphone scanner device is also on the cards.

2. This was a series of radio messages from a Russian Sputnik satellite. This one is strange, there is no source given for this information.

3. It is what it says it is: an extraterrestrial communication to earth, but "cleaned" for limited release within the NSA in 1969.For theory #1, the web site NSA practices deciphering ET signals says this:

Some have assumed that these documents were pertaining to messages received from extraterrestrials, an easy mistake to make with article titles such as "Key to the Extraterrestrial Messages." These documents are actually related to exercises for practicing deciphering coded messages that extraterrestrials may send us in the future.What I am going to do here now, is completely decode the message. In my book, "The Decoded Prophecies of Nostradamus", I had used some of these decoding techniques to decipher the prophecies of Nostradamus. He said, "This document has none of the normal NSA disclaimer words in it. They just come out and say 'we received messages from outer space' and this is the way to decode those messages."

I asked, "What does that mean to you?"

His reply was instant.

4. 1+1=2. 1+2=3. 2+1=3. 1+3=4. 2+2=4. 3+1=4. 1+4=5. 2+3=5. 3+2=5. 4+1=5. 1+5=6. 2+4=6. 3+3=6. 4+2=6. 5+1=6. (The letter "K" defines a group to add)

5. (3+2)+1=6. (1+2)+3=6. (4+2)+1=7. (3+1)+3=7. (3+2+1)=(3+2)+1. (Last statement has 2 extra K symbols. "LK" means "equal" where "KK" appear together.)

6. 2-1=1. 3-1=2. 3-2=1. 4-1=3. 4-2=2. 4-3=1. 5-1=4. 5-2=3. 5-3=2. 5-4=1. (M defines a group to subtract. For subtraction, order is important, unless M means "difference" between the following numbers. So at this point not sure if the order of the operands is important.)Comment: all the numbers go up only to seven. It is possibly that this is an octal numbering system. The symbol for "M" can stand for "minus" in the English language. If that is the case, "K" can stand for "combine" or "accumulate". Also, the letter "L" means "equal" as the letter "L" is the last letter in the word "equal". Could this mean familiarity with the English language? It would also indicate that this signal, wherever it came from, was intended for an English speaking nation (i.e., the United States of America).

7. 1-1=0. 2-2=0. 3-3=0. 4-4=0. 5-5=0. 6-6=0. 7-7=0. (N means 0)

8. 1x1=1. 1x0=0. 1x2=2. 2x1=2. 2x0=0. 0x2=0. 2x2=4. 1x4=4. 1x6=6. 2x3=6. (The letter "O" means multiply).

9. (2x3)x1=6. (1x2)x3=6. (1x3)x2=6. (4x5x6)=(5x6)x4. (Last statement has 2 extra O symbols. "LO" means "equal" where "OO" appear together.)Comment: For message #7, notice how the letter "N" is again the initial for the meaning of the letter. The letter "N" means "nothing" for the number 0. Message 7, a number substracted from itself is 0, corresponds to message 3, which is the identity of the first seven numbers. Messages 8 and 9 for multiplication correspond to messages 4 and 5 for addition.

The question arises, why would the letter "O" be used for the multiply operator? In Math, there is a concept known as "big O notation" which is used to measure the growth of functions. The concept is similar to multiplication, but broader: big O measures functions as a product, a sum, or multiplication by a number.

A design of great interest has been indentfied in his research which is being further studied because of the circumstances and nature of the events that have surrounded it.
