i was at los altos park at bout 6:50 pm i was drinking just finished a beer i went to the grass and laid down there was couple near by guy and girl while i waas laying down on the grass as i was looking up in notice a silver metallic object straight up there was a cloud the shape of the letter j rite at the top of the letter j is were the object was i told the couple next to do they see what im looking at the metallic object they said yes so i calld channel 4 news kkob news nbc and told the guy that answrd it was about 7:05 they said they were going to go look at it dont know if they did but at bout fiffteen min later the object just went straight up and disapered me and the couple seen it i dont know who the couple was it was a cool expoerience that isnt the first time that me or me and my wife had experienced ufos in this area i was excitedevery time that we see stranged lights in the sky this isnt the first time that i have seen lights or objects in the sky this is the first time though that i have writtn to mufon i didnt know how to get a hold of mufon thanks that s my story frank it was circular and metallic size and shape

UFO SIGHTING IN WINNIPEG, MANITOBA ON AUGUST 3RD 2013 - DRIVING HOME FROM COTTAGE SAW FOUR LIGHTS IN THE SKY MOVING SLOWLY IN A LINE AND SOMETIMES VERTICALLY STACKED

We were driving home from our cottage in the Whiteshell Provincial park on highway 44, heading west towards the city of Winnipeg where we live. It was around 9p.m. August 3rd. and the sun was setting with a few clouds in the sky. I saw a light in the corner of my eye that initially seemed to be reflections on the hydro power lines, witch can be seen in the photos. The lights then moved a bit higher and I could see they were well above the sight line of the power lines. This is when I noticed there were four lights in a row moving at the same pace as we were travelling, 105km/h (approx. 65 mph.) At one point, the 3rd object appeared below the 4th, and continued to keep this pace for a short time. I never actually saw it move or change position, it just seemed to be there. My wife was taking the pictures through the side window and windshield of my truck with my cellphone, but unfortunately we didn't get a shot of the 3rd. and 4th. as they were "stacked". We never stopped as there was other traffic and the road is quite tight and winding. I had my two daughters along who are 3 and 5, and the 5 year-old saw the lights and said they looked like shooting stars. My wife also saw them and she was taking the pictures as I drove. The objects gave a very brilliant metallic shine that seemed to be reflected sunlight and not produced by the objects themselves. There were no lights of any kind visible. It appeared that there was what seemed to be a small contrail in front and behind the most brilliant centre section of the objects. Other than when 3 appeared below 4, they seemed to keep even spacing and pace. The objects then lined up again and started to move toward the western horizon. They never actually seemed to be moving, it was not like watching an airplane cross the sky. They were beside us for a while and then just seemed to be getting further ahead to the west but not moving like an airplane. My wife also noted the odd, seeming lack of movement even thought they ended up going over the western horizon. About 40 minutes after we first noticed them we turned on to highway 15 witch goes pretty much directly east-west. We were heading west towards home and this is when they started to go over the horizon. At about this time I noticed an airplane heading in a southerly direction. It looked very different from the objects, much less brilliant and producing a long puffy contrail. It is hard to see in the photos while the objects are still quite visible. We were all very interested and amazed by the objects. There was never an uneasy feeling or any fear, we just watched them as long as we could and took it all in. I showed my brother, in-laws and some friends the pictures and they all thought it was pretty wild. The only thing that came to mind as a possibility was maybe a line of military helicopters? Military aircraft don't reflect light like that, and there were no navigation lights. Also, I have lived here all my life and we do have 17 Wing air force base here, but I have never seen a line of helicopters travelling together.

Approximately at 3pm on June 24, 1947, the civil pilot Kenneth Arnold was flying near Mount Rainier in Washington State (USA), when he saw nine objects flying one behind the other in an echelon formation: the first four, a gap, and then the other five.

Giant Ufo Sighting In California I Almost Drove Off The Road

A California witness driving north on toll Route 73 near Irvine reports watching a "giant, long, thin, dark gray" hovering object on May 5, 2012, according to testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

"I almost drove off road," the witness stated. "I know what it was not, but I don't know what it was. Not a cloud, not an airplane, not a helicopter...truly nothing I can say I know of unless military is doing something secret at old El Toro Air Field."

The witness assumes the football field-length object was seen by many other people in the area.

"I assumed thousands of people saw this from ground. I assume you will be bombarded by reports. I called my friend coming south on Route 5, but she didn't see it? It was something."

No images or videos were included with the MUFON report, which was filed on May 7, 2012. Irvine is in suburban Orange County, CA, population 212,375.

May 6 2010 Cigar Shape Craft Seen Arkansas Ufo Sighting

I will never ever forget what I saw Yesterday.

It has haunted me with questions all day today. Approx 6 pm yesterday May 6, 2010, I heard a massive airline leave our small airport. I looked up to see a air-bus with a tan front end and a weird tail on it. This huge plane was coming out of our Rogers municipal airport, Arkansas which is only used for small aircraft. I turned toward my front door while looking up. And to the east approx 1500 ft above my home was a cigar shaped UFO floating by between 60 and 70 mph.

It obviously was watching and following this air-bus. I thought camera and ran to the door but the door was locked accidentally by my 10 year old granddaughter. I yelled and beat on the door and my wife and granddaughter came blasting out to see what was wrong. I pointed at the craft and said look no wings! No sound! ( you could still hear the sound of the air-bus though) I knew I did not have time to take a picture so I grabbed my rifle scope and tried to see it.

If you have ever tried to do that, its near to impossible! My wife and granddaughter which did not believe in UfO's now had substantial proof. The UFO was approx 60ft to 70 ft long, 8 to 10 ft high and approx 15ft wide, moving at a speed of which any of our aircraft would fall out of the sky. It was metallic gray, glistened in the setting sun as it drifted upward keeping a level profile. From the side appearance, it looked like a disc because of the abrupt downward slope at each end of the craft. I watched as the air-bus made a slight left turn into the clouds and the UFO angled in that direction then vanished.

But right before it vanished, I got a glimpse of the rear of the craft and it appeared to have an almost octagon shape ( a wide octagon with rounded points) This I cannot say for sure as it was a ways away. It seemed either to be half cloaked or the energy from it made it seem a bit hazy. The following is the records from the airport. It does not show a large airplane leaving our airport! We live In Rogers Arkansas which is a very small town and also the near home of Walmart.

We think the above eyewitness UFO account matches with Russian MIGS cylinder UFO encounter.Where MIGS were scrambled to intercept a slim cylinder Unidentified Flying Object (UFO) but when the Russian jets catch up with the UFO it takes off at incredible speeds.

Ufo Sighting In South Bend Indiana On July 13Th 2013 I Saw 6 Redorange Objects Fly From East To West

UFO SIGHTING IN SOUTH BEND, INDIANA ON JULY 13TH 2013 - I SAW 6 RED/ORANGE OBJECTS FLY FROM EAST TO WEST. SIGHTING LASTED ABOUT 5 MIN.

I live about 4 miles north of downtown South Bend Indiana and a mile and a half north of Notre Dame Indiana. At 10:15 pm on July 13 2013 I was watching TV when I looked out of my living room window to the south and saw a red/orange object traveling from the East going to the West. It looked to be about twice the size of the brightest star. I went out into my back yard and saw that there were two of them. I got my phone in video mode and filmed them until they went behind my neighbors trees. I saw that there were three more coming into view and I filmed them as well until they also went behind the trees. I switched my phone into HD mode and got another, much better video of one of the objects. When I zoomed into the last one you can see its colors changing rapidly. They were all traveling at the same speed and in the same direction but not in a straight line. One was a little lover than the rest. I dont know how fast they were moving but they came into view from around a tree to my due South and went out of my view behind my neighbors tree to the Southwest of my house, in about a minuet to a minuet and a half. After the six objects all were out of view I stayed outside for another half hour to see if there were any more. There were not.

Ufo Sighting In Houston

UFO SIGHTING IN HOUSTON, TEXAS ON SEPTEMBER 7TH 2013 - BRIGHT RED AND ORANGE OBLONG OBJECT HOVERING OVER HOUSTON FOR 20 MINUTES. DARTED QUICKLY TOWARDS KATY AND HOVERED FOR 30 MINUTES.

Started watching TV outside when I noticed a large light in the distance. It was too large to be a planet or star. I watched it for 5 minutes and noticed it wasn't moving. My son and I studied it closely with binoculars and telescope. It was hovering and throwing off red, orange, and blue lights. It quickly moved west ward and stopped to hover about 5 minutes. Then it moved from downtown Houston out towards Katy in about 2 seconds. It stayed hovering for 30 minutes. It disappeared several times then reappeared about 5 or 6 times. Then it quickly took off going west.

Stephenville Flap Part 2 The Other Lore And Explanations Kick In

Remember that just yesterday I said: "The story has no discussion of aliens, outer space, or anything fringe or kooky."

January 14, 2008 - As the AP (picked up by CNN) makes this little town at least momentarily famous by fairly "just the facts" reporting, as MUFON prepares to send an investigative team, the local paper that initially broke this story profiles the the local UFO expert (free registration required) who has become part of the case. He says he also saw the UFO that night, but this isn't his first sighting, having shot a UFO video in the same general area in 1995. He discusses some initial investigation of astronomical characteristics that night, ruling out the moon. You can jump over to the profile to also read about his book on UFOs and the author's ESP abilities, and his sighting of photos and chemtrails on January 9 (the night following the sighting).

I'll say no more about that, other than to note that chemtrails are in strong competition with orbs and rods as some of my least favorite paranormal memes.

Update: Well, here's a no surpriser. The UFO "expert" going on about chemtrails, has a past of fraudulent claims about his background.

Update (January 25): Looks like Stephenville is sick of the guy too.

Update: A blogger local to Stephenville posts his explanation, that the sighting is of military aircraft and flares, which he cedits to the the local reserve base at Fort Worth. It should be noted, however that while he could not rule out aircraft from other units, the reserve officer previously mentioned says no aircraft from his unit were in the area on January 8.

SEPTEMBER 12, 2013 - SPACE - NASA's Voyager 1 spacecraft officially is the first human-made object to venture into interstellar space. The 36-year-old probe is about 12 billion miles (19 billion kilometers) from our sun.

New and unexpected data indicate Voyager 1 has been traveling for about one year through plasma, or ionized gas, present in the space between stars. Voyager is in a transitional region immediately outside the solar bubble, where some effects from our sun are still evident. A report on the analysis of this new data, an effort led by Don Gurnett and the plasma wave science team at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, is published in Thursday's edition of the journal Science.

"Now that we have new, key data, we believe this is mankind's historic leap into interstellar space," said Ed Stone, Voyager project scientist based at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena. "The Voyager team needed time to analyze those observations and make sense of them. But we can now answer the question we've all been asking -- 'Are we there yet?' Yes, we are."

"We literally jumped out of our seats when we saw these oscillations in our data -- they showed us the spacecraft was in an entirely new region, comparable to what was expected in interstellar space, and totally different than in the solar bubble," Gurnett said. "Clearly we had passed through the heliopause, which is the long-hypothesized boundary between the solar plasma and the interstellar plasma."

The new plasma data suggested a timeframe consistent with abrupt, durable changes in the density of energetic particles that were first detected on Aug. 25, 2012. The Voyager team generally accepts this date as the date of interstellar arrival. The charged particle and plasma changes were what would have been expected during a crossing of the heliopause.

"The team's hard work to build durable spacecraft and carefully manage the Voyager spacecraft's limited resources paid off in another first for NASA and humanity," said Suzanne Dodd, Voyager project manager, based at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif. "We expect the fields and particles science instruments on Voyager will continue to send back data through at least 2020. We can't wait to see what the Voyager instruments show us next about deep space."

Voyager 1 and its twin, Voyager 2, were launched 16 days apart in 1977. Both spacecraft flew by Jupiter and Saturn. Voyager 2 also flew by Uranus and Neptune. Voyager 2, launched before Voyager 1, is the longest continuously operated spacecraft. It is about 9.5 billion miles (15 billion kilometers) away from our sun.

Voyager mission controllers still talk to or receive data from Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 every day, though the emitted signals are currently very dim, at about 23 watts -- the power of a refrigerator light bulb. By the time the signals get to Earth, they are a fraction of a billion-billionth of a watt. Data from Voyager 1's instruments are transmitted to Earth typically at 160 bits per second, and captured by 34- and 70-meter NASA Deep Space Network stations. Traveling at the speed of light, a signal from Voyager 1 takes about 17 hours to travel to Earth. After the data are transmitted to JPL and processed by the science teams, Voyager data are made publicly available.

Ufo Sighting In Amos Quebec On June 5Th 2012 Bright Unblingking White Light Crossed The Sky In Three Minutes

Shortly before 4:00AM, as I couldn't sleep I got up and dressed. I then looked out from my bedroom window facing west and immediately noticed a bright white light over the NW horizon, too bright to be a planet or a star. (It was about 3 to 4 times brighter than Venus can be at it's brightest.) I kept looking and noticed it was moving slowly without blinking. I got out to have a better look. I realised it didn't look like the jet airplanes I sometimes see in the sky. No blinking lights, just one very bright light. I went back inside and got my camera (Lumix DMC-FZ28, with an 18x zoom) and managed to film 40 seconds of it. In all, it was visible for about three minutes before it disappeared below the SE horizon. When I first saw it NW, it was about 25 degres. At its highest, facing south, about 35 degrees. I guess it must always have been more than one mile away. The observation occured between 3:50 and 3:55 AM. At this latitude, date and time, it's still night but the NE horizon is already turning blue. It was a clear sky. It was not a conventional plane, helicopter, satellite or chinese lantern. It looked white to the naked eye but the recording reveals colors

Ufo Drops Blobs Of A Plasma Like Substance

This is one of the strangest - and clearest - UFO videos making the rounds this week. A glowing UFO appears to drop or drip or leak blobs of a liquid or plasma substance which seems to form floating orbs and meteor-like flashes. No location, owner or any other details on the video are available at this time. What could they be?

Reports of UFOs "dripping plasma" are somewhat common, especially with glowing orbs. MUFON Case 44496 reports a similar occurrence of a UFO dripping something.

A flame colored sphere that appeared to change into two spheres, disappeared, then reappeared further off in the distance as one orb, disappeared again, appeared closer yet again and looked like it was discharging something from the bottom, became two.

On October 30, 2014, a glowing orb that seemed to separate into plasma-like blobs and then rejoin was recorded over Partille, Sweden, using night vision equipment. No conclusive explanation for this UFO has been given.

Many UFO experts believe glowing orb UFOs use some sort of plasma propulsion system which can create a plasma field around the hull that could cause the plasma drips.

The mother of all "dripping UFO" reports is the famous Maury Island incident. In June 1947, just weeks before the Roswell UFO incident, two men reported seeing six UFOs near Maury Island in Washington state. They claimed one UFO dripped a liquid substance that fell to the ground, injuring a fellow worker and killing a dog. One of the witnesses was reportedly contacted by a man in a dark suit, one of the first reports of what might be a Man in Black, and later retracted his account, saying it was a hoax. As a result, the validity of the Maury Island incident and the possibility of a government coverup are debated to this day.

Getting back to the plasma-dripping UFO video posted this week - no other information is currently available. I'm no expert on plasma propulsion or plasma UFOs or plasma drips. What do you think it is? Did these people witness another Maury Island incident? Was it a plasma UFO? What else could they have seen?

Leon: China is goin through some kind of major political and economic changes that could represent a major shift in the powers of the Earth. I can't be specific to the details of the situation, only what I percieve.

Leon: The video of the clearly seen UFO is a Grey Alien Craft. I cannot be sure about the other.

Arcturi: What do the Greys want with China?

Leon: Its not necessarily about the Grey Alien race. There is a lot of Extra Terrestrial activity in China right now, and the rest of the world. The Grey race is actually not as advanced as some of the other races, therefore their methods of getting attention are less subtle.

Arcturi: Was making itself known an intentional move on the part of this UFO?

Leon: I suspect so, being over an airport with knowledge that the media will see this is a likely sign the Greys are looking to make a move at taking some form of stage in world events.

Arcturi: Does this violate any terms of the Galactic Federation?

Leon: The Greys are not officialy a part of the Galactic Federation, however, I am sure the members of the federation would not approve of these actions. While I do not believe the Greys have a sinister intention here, they are certainly looking for some type of recognition.

Arcturi: What way do you see this going?

Leon: The Nordic races, such as the Pleiadians and the Andromedans would prefer the human race ascend to the next level of development through individual spiritual means, however, if action must be taken, then they will perhaps step in. Worst case senario is the Greys plotting a power move to establish themsevles on Earth.

Our Work Here Is Done

Well, that's it then. The last issue of Magonia, printed, posted, done and dusted. How do I feel about it? A strange sense of release perhaps, which may - or may not - at some point in the future morph into an aching void somewhere deep in my being. But not just yet.

I look at the cupboard next to my desk, with its piles of old Magonias, all carefully preserved for the expected rush of orders for back issues now that the magazine has gently faded away - or alternatively carefully packed to make it easier to take them over to the recycling centre - and wonder just what has been achieved by all the effort they represent.

Well, most obviously, and most importantly, many people with lots of valuable and interesting things to say have had the opportunity to put their ideas in print and present them to an interested group of readers. It's a source of pride that Magonia over the years has carried articles by most of the influential figures in ufology in this country, Europe and the USA. It's particularly gratifying that one or two of them became influential as a result of being published in Magonia.

I have to say that I find it amazing that a magazine which has never had a circulation of more than - how can I put this tactfully? - the low hundreds, became so influential in the field. Even now, 'Magonian' is used as a term of abuse on some American websites!

I've said before that the main reason I decided to close the magazine was because I felt that ufology was just recycling the same material again and again, and the thought of embarking on a second hundred with pretty much the same old stuff, was just too much. Although ufology has some first-rate historians - and here I namecheck Jerome Clark and David Clarke - the subject as a whole has very little sense of history. Each new generation of ufologists seems to have to re-discover the subject for itself, presenting as new ideas topics which were discussed ten, twenty, thirty years ago.

Of course, some things have changed very radically, one being the status of UFO magazines. When I look back at the very early, slowly fossilizing layers of the Magonia files, I find a few crumbling copies of the 'Merseyside UFO Research Group Bulletin', the near-legendary ur-Magonia, just a few pages of stencil duplicated foolscap. On the back page of one of them is a list of exchange magazines: Allen Greenfield's "UFO Sighter"; "Probe", the" Controversial Phenomena Magazine"; "CFSIB Newsletter"; "UFOLOG", from the Isle of Wight; Ren'e Fou'er'e's "Ph'enomena Spatiaux"; "GESAG Bulletin" from Belgium; the American magazines from APRO and NICAP, and dozens of magazines from small local groups around Britain. To say nothing of "BUFORA Bulletin" and "Flying Saucer Review".

Obviously a great deal of what used to be in such publications now surfaces in cyberspace, so I shouldn't be too nostalgic about them, but it's depressing that over the past few years some people have lost considerable amounts of money launching overambitious news-stand publications. But this still demonstrates the lure of the 'proper' print magazine.

The UFO website and the blog now represent what one of my colleagues memorably described as the 'gutter-roots' of ufology. It is here where the first rough scrapings of reports and research appear. In a couple of pieces in "Magonia "Peter Rogerson has described the way that the raw story, with all its untidiness, craziness and internal contradiction, is smoothed and edited into the received narrative, which forms the framework of the paperback bestseller and the lecture circuit, and feeds back into the way the whole phenomenon is structured. Perhaps the internet is going to make this process more difficult in future, and the uncomfortable 'gutter-roots' will sneak into the mainstream. This process is well advanced in politics, as anyone who's been taking notice of events in the UK over the past few weeks will know.

The Internet has hastened (but not caused) the collapse of the structure of UFO groups and the UFO magazine, but has done nothing but good for serious UFO research. MUFOB and Magonia's aim, from its earliest days, was the destruction of the system of local and national groups. This has happened, and we acknowledge the kind assistance of Sir Tim Berners-Lee.

I conclude this piece with the last sentences from my last editorial notes in Magonia 99:

"... with the demise of the membership organisation, which must always pander to the lowest common denominator, [British ufology] has become what MUFOB/Magonia has been seeking for forty years: a group of individual researchers with expertise in a range of subject, who co-operate informally and voluntarily without the need of a bureaucratic 'National UFO Group'.

A Giant Leap For Mankind And Doritos

I just got the news release and I have to say, I'm impressed. Doritos has just made it into the Guinness Book of World Records for the first advertising campaign directed at extraterrestrial consumers.

They ran a contest for people to make their own TV ad, and the winner will be broadcast into space using a powerful transmitter.

They noted:

"The signal is directed at a solar system just 42

light years away from Earth, in the 'Ursa Major' or Great Bear

Constellation. Its star is very similar to our Sun and hosts a

habitable zone that could harbour small life supporting planets

similar to ours."

Specifically, the star system receiving the message will be 47 UMa, in the Big Dipper. It is a yellow dwarf star, and according its Wiki entry, it is a "solar twin, star approximately 46 light-years away in the constellation of Ursa Major. As of 2002, it has been confirmed that two extrasolar planets orbit the star. Because of this, 47 Ursae Majoris was listed as one of top 100 target stars for NASA's former Terrestrial Planet Finder mission."

I hope Budweiser sees the potential here. The aliens will need something to wash down the chips.

British Passenger Plane Involved In Near Miss With Ufo

"MARK'S NOTE: THIS STORY IS JUST NOW COMING TO LIGHT. THIS HAPPENED ON DECEMBER 2ND LAST YEAR, 2012. "

A passenger plane was involved in a near miss an unidentified flying object, two pilots have reported.

The blue and yellow UFO came within 300ft of the Airbus 320 on December 2 (2012) above Baillieston as the plane approached Glasgow Airport.

The UK Airprox Board - which investigates near misses in the skies - heard the incident had taken place at around 3500ft. Both pilots on the flight reported seeing the UFO "loom ahead".

The board head the object passed directly beneath the plane before either of the crew had time to take avoiding action or had "really registered it" although they were both agreed that it appeared blue and yellow or silver in colour with a small frontal area but that it was "bigger than a balloon".

The estimated miss-distance was 300ft.

BLACK TRIANGLE SIGHTING IN HATFIELD, PENNSYLVANIA ON NOVEMBER 19TH 2013 - TRIANGLE UFO WITH VERY BRIGHT WHITE LIGHTS AND ONE BRIGHT PULSATING RED LIGHT IN MIDDLE OVER HATFIELD PATriangle shaped UFO seen over Hatfield PA at 10:58pm flying north west to south west. It was a perfect triangle shape. It had three white lights and one red pulsing red light. All the lights were very bright. one bright white light on each corner of the 'triangle' and one bright red blinking pulsing light in the center of the 'triangle'. the white lights did not blink and were steady. I was surprised how bright the lights were. The object seemed large and low altitude. Since it was night time, this is all I could tell about the object. It looked triangular because of the position of the lights, but I am not sure if it was a different shape because it was dark outside. All I can go by are the lights. It was silent and moved rather slowly and it seemed to be quite low for an airplane. I never saw an airplane like that, but wouldn't rule it out.
